Environment, Health and Safety Manager

Responsibilities

Manage continuous improvement projects targeting resource conservation. Report on KPI objectives
Perform all assigned responsibilities with Emergency Response Plan (ERP-SPCC) and Business Continuation Plan
Lead organization compliance to ISO 14001:2015 EMS standard. Maintain required environmental policies, procedures, and support pollution prevention initiatives
Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health and safety regulations including filing of periodic reports and maintenance of required permits
Support the development of safety policies (e.g. LOTO, PIV, PPE, Lifting Guidelines etc.), implementation, audit, and adherence to the policies
Assist cross-functional teams in identification, analysis, and control of occupational hazards requiring the application of engineering knowledge, skill, and abilities. Document EHS approval of applicable policies and procedures
Identify, support, enforce, and apply safe work practices; ensure that employees adhere to federal, state, and local codes and regulations
Support accident investigation and provide technical support where required, monitor root cause/ corrective action completion status and document EHS approval for completed reports
Support required training activities for employees in all areas of safety and environmental compliance. Assist in defining required training, content resources to conduct training and where applicable, assist in performing training
Interact effectively with customers, employees, support personnel, and outside support resources to meet objectives

Required

Four-year college degree in relevant technical discipline required
Ability to work effectively in a team environment is essential
10+ years of relevant industrial experience supporting equipment preferred
2+ years relevant industrial experience in supporting manufacturing plant EHS compliance
Strong computer skills, equipment, and project management knowledge
Technically proficient with ability to read and interpret blueprints
Knowledge of federal, state, and local building-related codes, safety, and environmental regulations
Knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, DEP, etc. regulations
Knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 standard and preferably trained as lead auditor
Strong project management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Structured problem-solving capability in supporting root cause analysis / corrective action
Results orientation – conveys a sense of urgency when appropriate and drives the right issues
Ability to produce results and meet organizational objectives through motivation / support to peers and demonstrate team leadership as required
Set example demonstrates ethical and professional behavior in all interactions
Effective written and verbal communication addressed to all levels of organization and external parties as required
Be open to change and facilitate change
