CIVIL ENGINEER II
The City and County of Honolulu is seeking a Civil Engineer II to join their Department of Facility Maintenance, specifically within the Storm Water Quality Division. The role involves assisting with engineering projects related to storm water management, including planning, design, and construction management.

Responsibilities
Assist with engineering projects related to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Storm Water Management Program
Plan, design, construction management, product evaluation, research & development, system optimization, database management, and Geographical Information System (GIS) mapping
May participate in periodic cross training and supplementary work activities within the division to comply with regulatory obligations
Qualification
Required
Must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty
One (1) year of non-registered professional civil engineering experience
Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license (Type 3), as required
Knowledge of principles and practices of general civil engineering
Knowledge of engineering mathematics and mechanics of materials
Knowledge of topographic surveying principles and practices
Knowledge of structural, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and sanitary engineering concepts as they apply to civil engineering
Ability to perform engineering drafting and basic design work
Ability to interpret engineering plans, specifications, and land descriptions
Ability to plot and analyze survey notes
Ability to prepare maps, plans, profiles, and cross-sections
Preferred
A Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a regionally-accredited college or university will substitute for the one year of non-registered professional civil engineering experience
