Chief Operating Officer, Healthcare

CareerLibrary.PK is a mission-driven healthcare organization seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO). The COO will lead day-to-day operations, clinical integration, performance improvement, and operational excellence across the organization.

Responsibilities

Oversee clinical operations across hospitals, medical groups, and ambulatory care settings
Implement and scale operational strategies that drive patient access, clinical outcomes, and cost efficiency
Partner with clinical leadership on care delivery transformation and service line integration
Lead performance improvement initiatives, including throughput, quality, and safety metrics
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain accreditation readiness
Oversee workforce planning, labor cost management, and union relations (where applicable)
Drive cross-functional collaboration between clinical, administrative, and technology teams
Manage large-scale capital projects, facilities planning, and infrastructure improvements
Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and board on operational priorities and enterprise risk

Required

15+ years of progressive leadership in healthcare operations, including experience at the SVP or COO level
Proven ability to lead complex, matrixed organizations with unionized workforces and integrated delivery systems
Track record of improving clinical, operational, and financial outcomes across multiple service lines
Strong executive presence, communication skills, and ability to influence across stakeholders
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field

Preferred

Experience in value-based care, population health, and health system transformation
Master's degree strongly preferred
