Create and facilitate small-group literacy sessions for K-2 learners, ensuring phonics instruction is enjoyable, interactive, and tailored to individual needs
Modify teaching approaches in the moment according to student requirements, group literacy levels, and attention signals
Conduct motivational sessions with students to promote progress in adaptive reading apps and reach educational milestones
Track student achievement data from adaptive platforms and apply it to customize instruction for each literacy group
Employ narrative techniques, humor, gaming comparisons, and encouraging feedback to sustain student effort and address reluctance
Qualification
Required
Willing to work on-site at NextGen Academy in Austin, TX
Bachelor's degree in elementary education, reading, or related field
Certification in structured literacy approaches such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, or similar evidence-based phonics programs
2+ years of experience delivering small-group reading instruction to K-2 students or struggling readers
Demonstrated ability to assess student reading levels and design differentiated instruction independently
Enthusiastic about video games and gaming culture, even if not a gamer yourself
Legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
