Judge's Secretary 1 (Civil - Recall Judges)
New Jersey Courts is seeking a detail-oriented judge's secretary to provide administrative and technical support to Superior Court Recall Judges in the Civil Division. The role involves coordinating schedules, managing case documents, and performing various clerical tasks to ensure efficient court operations.

Responsibilities
Coordinating availability and technology capabilities of court users for court hearings (ZOOM experience a plus)
Coordinating judges' schedules
Typing opinions
Compiling case documents and organizing jackets
Typing letters and other correspondence
Reviewing and updating case data in our court systems (ACMS and eCourts)
Implementing record-keeping systems to track case status
Performing related duties as required
Qualification
Required
Three (3) years of experience in an office environment performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and one or more of the following: preparing and analyzing legal documents, processing legal or other documents, transcribing information, and scheduling meetings or appointments
Successful completion of a clerical training program with a minimum of 700 classroom training hours or 30 semester hour credits in secretarial science may be substituted for one (1) year of experience indicated above. Course work must include typing skills, methods, and procedures; other courses may include, but are not limited to, office procedures, word processing, and business English
Applicants selected to interview must pass an appointing authority administered examination to demonstrate typing skills of at least 40 words per minute or possess proof of having taken the required skills test (for example, the New Jersey Civil Service Commission or New Jersey Judiciary typing proficiency certificate)
Driver's License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position
Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations
Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting
In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the 'New Jersey First Act,' all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey
Preferred
Strong computer skills preferred
ZOOM experience a plus
Knowledge of legal terminology and working knowledge of Microsoft Office is helpful
