Junior Java Developer

Gofer is seeking a Junior Java Developer to join their team. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining server-side logic, as well as building and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices.

Responsibilities

Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain server-side logic using Core Java and the Spring ecosystem
API Management: Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices to connect with front-end interfaces and third-party services
Testing & Quality: Write unit, integration, and functional tests (JUnit, Mockito) to ensure code reliability and system stability
Collaboration: Participate in Agile ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning) and contribute to peer code reviews
Bug Resolution: Identify, troubleshoot, and patch software defects and performance issues in existing codebases
Documentation: Maintain technical documentation for system architecture, API endpoints, and deployment procedures

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent bootcamp experience)
Strong proficiency in Java (17 or 21) including Collections, Streams, and Multithreading
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Hibernate/JPA
Basic knowledge of SQL and relational database management (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle)
Proficiency with Git (GitHub/GitLab) and standard branching workflows
Familiarity with Maven or Gradle
Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), SOLID principles, and RESTful architecture
Strong analytical problem-solving abilities and the communication skills necessary to work in a team-based environment
