Business Development Representative (Boston or NYC)
OpenHands is an open-source AI platform focused on empowering engineering teams. They are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Representative to identify, engage, and qualify new business opportunities, serving as the first point of contact for prospects.

Responsibilities
Prospecting and lead generation
Research target accounts and market segments to build accurate prospect lists
Initiate outbound & inbound engagement through phone, email, LinkedIn, Slack, and X
Create and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified leads for Account Executives
Schedule discovery calls and demos with Account Executives
Synthesize webinar, tradeshow, social engagement & open source product activity into executive level conversations
Maintain accurate activity tracking in Hubspot, Apollo, Reo.Dev, LinkedIn Sales Navigator
Rapidly learn and communicate OpenHands value proposition
Stay current on AI software and developer tooling trends & use current events to initiate conversations
Travel to tradeshows representing OpenHands
Qualification
Required
Currently located in Boston or New York City
1-3 years of experience in sales development or business development role
Experience using CRM and sales engagement tools
Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new technical concepts and clearly explain complex solutions
Strong interpersonal communication skills with confidence engaging technical leaders and executives
Highly self motivated and effective in fast moving startup environments with genuine enthusiasm for AI and software development
Interest in AI/LLM-powered developer tools and open-source software
Preferred
Familiarity with AI developer tools or SaaS platforms is a plus
