Senior Nuclear Accountability Specialist

Responsibilities
Serve as the primary interface for material shipments and receipts that will impact nuclear material inventories
This position is responsible for performing accounting functions applied to nuclear material management
Position requires detailed analysis of nuclear inventory information, monitoring /evaluation of process activities and reconciling nuclear material inventories
This position is responsible for accurately maintaining the nuclear material accounting system (LANMAS/SRSMAS) to be current, maintain NMC&A forms to ensure that inputs into the system are consistent, chronological and/or sequential and auditable in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAPP), supports analyzing and reporting of nuclear inventory data, monitoring and reconciling nuclear material accounts, preparing inventory statements and transactions
This position is also responsible for reporting all shipments and receipts to Nuclear Materials Management Safeguards Systems (NMMSS) and other reporting agencies as required
This position participates in audits/assessments of selected nuclear material accounting functions, monitors, analyzes and corrects discrepancies between SRS and DOE/NRC HQ databases and is also responsible for annual inventory reports, month-end closing, year-end closing and other reconciliations and reports as required
Finally, this position supports accounting oversight functions of all operational MBAs, providing recommendations to management for procedures and process improvements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field
Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered
Preferred
Nuclear Material Control & Accountability experience
Nuclear material transportation or operations experience (i.e. experience in a previous job where the individual performed nuclear material handling or transportation functions, etc.)
