Responsibilities
Systems programmer on mainframe middleware side of house
CICS, MQ, DB2
Knowledge/experience with mainframe network, TCP/IP, IBM EE (Enterprise Extender), IBM VTAM (Virtual Telecommunications Access Method)
IBM SMP/E (System Modification Program/Extended) and z/OS
Knowledge of: Omegamon, sysview, CICS performance analyzer, c/prof
Knowledge and ability to support some of z/os; SMPE, knowledge of JCL, REXX scripting
Documentation is a must - good ability to document
Cross-training ability - ability to pass on knowledge they have to less tenured
Ability to triage and perform syst maintenance; Performance tuning
Qualification
Required
Mainframe developer with strong CICS plus MQ and/or DB2
CICS is primary, then either DB2 or MQ would be ideal
Some working knowledge of mainframe networking piece related to TCP/IP or communications server
Knowledge/experience with mainframe network, TCP/IP, IBM EE (Enterprise Extender), IBM VTAM (Virtual Telecommunications Access Method)
IBM SMP/E (System Modification Program/Extended) and z/OS
