They are looking to add a Controller to their team with non-profit experience, specifically with managing federal and state grants and audits, to lead the client’s accounting and finance operations and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities
Lead month, quarter, and year-end close cycles
Manage financial reporting for grant submission
Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Oversee GL reconciliation and preparation of financial statements
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and audit readiness
Assist in annual audits and tax filings
Recommend improvements to accounting systems, processes, and procedures
Mentor accounting staff, and ensure smooth hand-off to permanent team
Perform other accounting duties as assigned by CFO or senior leadership
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting (required)
5–10+ years of experience in accounting leadership roles
Experience managing full accounting operations, close cycles, and audits
Strong written and verbal business acumen
Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
Deep understanding of GAAP, GL oversight, and internal controls
Strong attention to detail and organization
Tech-savvy with proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, Bill.com, Expensify, or similar
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Clear and concise communication skills
Preferred
Non-Profit experience preferred
Experience managing federal and state grants and audits
Colorado residents will be considered first
