School Psychologist (2026-2027 School Year)

Responsibilities
Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results for students and participate in IEP conferences, team meetings, and problem-solving meetings
Schedule IEP meetings related to evaluations
Collaborate with MTSS team
Monitor completion of case study evaluations and participate in IEP conferences and problem-solving meetings
Meet all legal deadlines as stated by the district and school policies and procedures
Collaborate with ESE team
Lead crisis intervention efforts and provide insight into the development of functional assessments and behavior intervention plans
Integrate psychological services into the classroom environment as appropriate
Provide assistance to staff in the design and implementation of appropriate interventions and accommodations for students
Evaluate and/or translate research into practice and understand research design and statistics in sufficient depth to plan and conduct investigations and program evaluations for improvement of services
Contribute to program development that furthers the integration of social, coping, and problem solving in the classroom
Provide support services to parents/guardians as needed
Coordinate and/or collaborate with a range of individuals/agencies to promote and provide comprehensive services to students and families
Provide and/or assist in professional development for staff, parents, and/or community
Participate in professional growth activities on a yearly basis including recertification for CPI, workshops, in-services, professional reading materials, and/or other available offerings at NSSEO
Proficiently use technology to communicate, compile reports, and collect data
Participate in building or program activities and meetings as appropriate
Qualification
Required
Ability to communicate complex information, individually and in groups, to people from a wide variety of age, education, and ethnic backgrounds
Strong track record for analyzing complex problems/issues, identifying patterns, and recommending creative solutions
Ability to work and interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
Establish excellent interpersonal skills between all constituents: being courteous, professional, and helpful; Oral, Written, Interpersonal (active listening), Negotiating and Influencing
Proactive and takes initiative. Insists on providing highest level of quality
Must be customer focused both internally with staff and externally with parents and students
Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple priorities
Reviews current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility
Ability to consistently be at work, be on time, follow instructions, respond to management direction, and solicit feedback to improve performance
Computer Basics -- Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); Student Information System (SIS)
Good knowledge of company and school policies and procedures
Valid South Carolina teaching certificate in School Psychology
Knowledge of methods of assessment; systematic processes to collect data, translate assessment results into empirically based decisions about service delivery and evaluate outcomes of services
Knowledge of learning processes, appropriate instructional interventions to meet students' needs, and the ability to implement and assess their effectiveness
Knowledge of the South Carolina Seed Document
Knowledge of behavioral mental health, collaborative and/or consultation models and methods and their application
Aptitude to learn new programs and to operate efficiently in a computerized environment
Commitment to school and company values
Preferred
Detailed knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements for K-12 schools and charter school law preferred
