Mechanical Engineer III

Responsibilities

Define specifications for features and functions on new products, in addition to enhancements on existing products
Design, develop, analyze and test innovative, cost-effective solutions that align with Cleaveland/Price manufacturing philosophy and capability
Document projects and designs by creating CAD drawings, technical reports, test plans, and design review presentations
Assist in assembling prototype switch products and mechanical switch assemblies, in house or at an external test lab
Participate in the investigation of technical problems and the creation of procedures, processes, and corrective actions to avoid recurrences
Start on a path to becoming a subject matter expert within the department
Provide direction to entry level engineers and facilitate training when the requirement arises
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology from an ABET accredited program or related field
Autodesk Inventor and Vault software experience or equivalent
Electric power systems knowledge
Familiar with manufacturing, kinematics, strength of materials and other mechanical engineering concepts
Problem-solving and critical thinking ability
Interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities, with effective and efficient verbal and written communication
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Cleaveland/Price in the US
Typically requires 4+ years of experience for Level III
Typically requires 7+ years of experience for Level IV
An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for up to two years of experience
