International Casualty Senior Broker

Responsibilities

Maintain a strong understanding of carrier appetite, capabilities, emerging trends, and global market dynamics impacting international casualty programs for U.S. clients
Support negotiations with domestic and international markets to secure competitive terms, conditions, and pricing on behalf of Howden’s internal and external clients
Contribute to the design and execution of placement strategies, bringing forward thoughtful structuring ideas and differentiated market approaches during new business and renewal cycles
Apply and advise on risk financing concepts—including captives, alternative risk structures, and multinational program design—while supporting the broader strategic direction of the Casualty practice
Partner closely with the Multinational Servicing team, the HowdenOne network, and global Casualty colleagues to ensure seamless execution and governance across multinational programs
Build and share knowledge on Howden’s international capabilities, the HowdenOne Network, and country‑specific considerations that influence casualty placements
Collaborate with and support junior team members as needed, contributing to a culture of quality, learning, and continuous improvement
Participate in client meetings, strategic discussions, and market engagements to reinforce Howden’s position as a trusted global advisor

Required

Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degree or industry designations (e.g., CPCU, ARM) preferred
4–10+ years of experience in underwriting or broking international casualty placements for U.S.-based clients
Demonstrated success leading complex placements and negotiating with global markets
Exceptional communication, advisory, and relationship‑building skills
Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Proven ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative, and globally connected environment

Preferred

Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members is a plus
