Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of estimators and assistant estimators
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and determine production rates
Coordinate bid reviews, vendor pricing, and subcontractor outreach
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents
Establish project schedules and resource requirements
Ensure all bids are accurate, competitive, and submitted on time
Collaborate closely with project teams, field personnel, and executive leadership
Conduct site visits and assess job conditions where necessary
Maintain documentation including contracts, bids, and vendor correspondence
Uphold safety and compliance standards throughout the estimating process
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
10+ years of experience in estimating, cost control, or construction management
Proficient in HCSS Heavy Bid and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong understanding of heavy civil construction and industry procedures
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
Ability to lead cross-functional efforts and deliver results under tight deadlines
Willingness to travel to job sites as needed
