Responsibilities
Facilitating 1-hour outdoor life-skills sessions (public speaking, focus, leadership, teamwork) using nature-based challenges and adventure-style methodologies
Conducting brief, results-driven motivational sessions where you guide students toward achieving academic targets with adaptive learning software
Animating curriculum through storytelling, personalization, and dynamic delivery that maintains high engagement across K-12 age groups
Implementing safety procedures and field judgment (route selection, weather monitoring, equipment inspection, Leave No Trace fundamentals) according to Waypoint's operational standards
Evaluating skill acquisition by having students demonstrate application of life skills in authentic scenarios
Maintaining rigorous standards of excellence while serving as an approachable, motivating mentor students genuinely respect and admire
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in any discipline
At least 3 years of professional experience with K-12 students in educational, camp, coaching, or outdoor programming environments
Documented history of exceptional achievement (academic, athletic, or professional domains)
Strong public speaking capability with the ability to captivate and sustain attention across large student audiences, both indoors and outdoors
Innate capacity to connect with K-12 learners, their interests, and their world—not as a peer, but as a constructive role model who challenges them toward growth
Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
Availability to work onsite at Waypoint Academy's Dripping Springs, TX campus (Austin area)
Preferred
