Head of Solution Engineering
Trident Search is a fast-growing Cloud Security innovator seeking a Solution Engineering Leader. This leadership role blends security expertise with sales leadership, focusing on technical strategy for enterprise deals and influencing product and go-to-market strategy.
Responsibilities
Own technical strategy for strategic and enterprise deals
Lead executive briefings, live demos, and whiteboard sessions that inspire confidence and drive action
Build competitive playbooks, objection-handling strategies, and field enablement tools
Partner with Account Executives to accelerate deals and boost win rates
Serve as a go-to expert on cloud security operations and vulnerability management
Translate complex customer pain points into clear, value-driven use cases
Lead proof-of-concept engagements with clarity, credibility, and impact
Craft a bold competitive narrative that positions us against legacy players and new challengers alike
Represent the company at key industry events, customer councils, and analyst briefings
Stay ahead of the curve in remediation, exposure management, and cloud security evolution
Turn customer feedback into insight that shapes product and go-to-market strategy
Write sharp, story-driven technical content — from solution briefs to thought leadership
Collaborate with Marketing on launches, messaging, and solution storytelling
Qualification
Required
7+ years in Solution Engineering, Technical Sales, or Sales Engineering in cybersecurity
Deep hands-on fluency with AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI — you can explain, secure, and debug S3, IAM, KMS, and network controls without breaking stride
Real-world understanding of SecOps: scanners (Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7), workflows (Jira, ServiceNow), and EDR/SIEM ecosystems (Splunk, Sentinel, CrowdStrike, MDE)
A demo wizard and natural storyteller who commands the room, simplifies complexity, and makes security relatable
A technical closer: discovery, architecture sessions, executive briefings, competitive teardowns — you own the technical win
A builder's mindset: you ship playbooks, content, and enablement tools that make the team better daily
Preferred
You've been the first SE or SE leader before — thrive in ambiguity, build structure, and scale from 1 to many
You go deep where it matters — containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation)
You have community signal — speaking, writing, or technical thought leadership
You're a self-starter who can juggle deals, create repeatable systems, and lay foundations for future growth
