Emerging Technology Education Fellow

The Coding School, now known as Frontier Technologies Institute (FTI), is a non-profit organization focused on making emerging tech education accessible. They are seeking Emerging Technology Education Fellows to develop and instruct curriculum related to quantum computing and AI, collaborating with industry partners and engaging students in innovative educational practices.

Responsibilities

Develop and update curriculum content for a variety of education programs, including preparation/modification of slides, Colab notebooks, assignments and problem sets
Collaborate with industry and academia on developing new curriculum content or programs
Brainstorming new and different ways to creatively teach students QIS and/or AI concepts
Teach students introductory or intermediate educational material, including K-12 students or educators, university students, or members of the workforce
Serve as the head Teaching Assistant (TA) for a program, in which the Fellow may interview prospective TAs, manage the TAs, go over lab content with the TAs, and hold debriefing sessions
Lead the QIS and/or AI workshop program, in which FTI provides free virtual, 1-2 hour workshops to K-12 schools
Serve as the lead instructor for research programs, camps, and workshops, which may involve traveling for in-person programming, such as summer camps

Required

PhD candidate or Post Doc in quantum information sciences (QIS), AI, or Machine Learning program, Bachelor's degree with substantial coursework in QIS and/or AI, or equivalent practical experience in QIS and/or AI with a company
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and perform in a fast paced environment
Ability to teach across multiple learning mediums, including in-person, hybrid, and virtual learning environments
Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience (does not need to be QIS or AI-related), preferably among a range of student ages

Preferred

Experience with curriculum development, including slide creation/modification, development of engaging exercises, etc
Research publications on applications of quantum computers (e.g., quantum chemistry, optimization); AI, ML, or quantum algorithms; quantum mechanics; or a related field
