Civil Structural Engineer Substation / Energy
VHB is a company dedicated to supporting the transition to clean energy solutions, and they are seeking a Civil Structural Engineer specializing in Substation/Energy. The role involves designing substation structures, collaborating with project teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of engineering projects.
Responsibilities
Design substation structures and foundations
Collaborate with multidiscipline internal and external project teams
Develop/review civil/structural engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and specifications
Document and track action items and deliverables
Procure major/minor civil/structural materials and prepare material takeoffs
Monitor and project financial performance
Perform field visits and site inspections
Qualification
Required
BS in Civil Engineering/Structural (MS maybe substituted for 2 years of relevant experience)
Minimum 5-8 years of commercial experience in civil/structural engineering
Professional Engineering License
Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design
Familiarity with design codes (AISC, ACI, ASCE, IBC, NESC, etc.)
Experience working on project teams
Ability to manage deliverable and time commitments
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Self-motivated with ability to think critically
Travel occasionally
Preferred
Experience with any of the following software a plus: RISA-3D, PLS-CADD, LPILE, & MicroStation/AutoCAD
