Responsibilities
Collaborate with external customers and internal stakeholders to identify pain points and validate demand for new products or enhancements to existing products
Own, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog. Translate complex requirements into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria for our engineering teams, balancing new development with ongoing platform improvements
Define the 'what' and the 'why' behind product features, ensuring the development team is always working on the items with the highest business impact. Partner with leadership and customer teams to define go-to-market strategy and provide input on customer roadmaps
Serve as the primary point of contact for product progress, providing transparency to leadership, and ensuring the final product meets the specific regulatory and technical needs of the life insurance sector
Support product demos and sales conversations as needed
Work closely with developers and architects from initial concept through production release and post-launch iteration. Engage with Sales and Delivery teams to ensure smooth customer delivery
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role in an Agile environment
Deep understanding of the Life and Annuity industry
Experience with Jira or similar tools and a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle
Familiarity with APIs, microservices concepts, and data formats such as XML/JSON
Exceptional ability to communicate across business and technical stakeholders and build consensus across teams
Comfort navigating ambiguity, managing competing priorities, and making trade-off decisions in a dynamic environment
Preferred
Experience with insurance technology solutions
