Auditor, Internal Audit Services
The Government of Nunavut is seeking an Auditor for Internal Audit Services to provide independent audit and advisory services. The role involves evaluating internal controls, conducting risk analyses, and preparing audit reports to improve operations within the government.

Responsibilities
Understanding of the activities and controls to be audited by reviewing legislation, policies, and procedures as well as management directives and guidelines
Documenting systems and evaluating internal controls
Performing risk analyses and determining areas of audit emphasis
Developing appropriate lines of inquiry and detailed audit objectives
Determining resource requirements and developing time budgets for audit segments
Preparing audit planning documents for review and approval by the Senior Auditor and the Manager
Preparing, in consultation with the Senior Auditor and the Manager, detailed audit programs that fulfill the audit objectives, and that serve as a guide to perform the audit
Obtaining and documenting audit evidence that is sufficient, reliable, relevant, and useful; maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information obtained during the audit
Summarizing, analyzing, and evaluating audit findings, and formulating conclusions incorporating senior management responses into the final report; resolving any questions that arise from the Senior Auditor’s and/or Manager’s review of the audit file
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree from a recognized institution in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field
a minimum of two (2) years of Canadian auditing experience
satisfactory Criminal Record Check
Preferred
progressive experience in auditing computerized systems in a Canadian setting
possession of (or being registered for) one of the following designations: a current Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation
Fluency in more than one of Nunavut's official languages
Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut
experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment
