Student Employment - Specialist I, Visual Art & Design, Photo Lab (Part Time)
Salt Lake Community College is Utah’s largest open-access college in the state, and they are seeking a Specialist I for their Visual Art & Design Photo Lab. The role involves assisting photography students with lab work, maintaining facilities and equipment, and ensuring effective communication with diverse groups within the college.

Responsibilities
Helping photography students with a variety of lab work
Daily maintenance of the facilities and equipment (duties will include cleaning, mixing chemicals, checking out equipment, and inventory)
Opening and closing the facility
Good interpersonal communication skills
Basic computer skills and knowledge in Lightroom Classic, Capture One Pro, and Photoshop
Proficiency with digital workflow, analog workflow, all formats of cameras, studio lighting, and equipment
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College
Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States
All employees are expected to maintain a permanent residence within the State of Utah as a condition of employment
Some experience or education in photography
Self-motivated to help students and instructors in the photography lab and studio
Daily maintenance of the facilities and equipment (duties will include cleaning, mixing chemicals, checking out equipment, and inventory)
