Electrical Engineer
CEI is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join their growing organization, focusing on communications and network systems for electric utilities and energy distribution. This role supports a long-term infrastructure modernization initiative, contributing to the lifecycle of communications systems and ensuring alignment with business needs.

Responsibilities
Support the Communications Engineering team responsible for enterprise and field communications systems delivering voice, video, and data services
Assist with the architecture, engineering, design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of RF communication systems, leased line services, and network circuits
Participate in installations and upgrades of communications technologies to support approved network and computing architectures
Support the operational performance and maintenance of existing communications circuits and assist with the design and delivery of new services or enhancements
Coordinate with internal engineering, operations, and project teams to support deployment of Field Area Network devices
Support infrastructure elements including DC power systems, generator backup power, and environmental support systems to maintain system reliability
Ensure technical standards, procedures, regulatory requirements, and change management processes are followed on assigned work
Maintain scope, schedule, and budget awareness for assigned projects or deliverables
Take ownership of assigned work and coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to support project delivery
Maintain and update communications and network documentation using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Adobe Acrobat, and related tools
Author, edit, and manage formal process documentation including policies, standards, procedures, guidelines, drawings, and related deliverables
Apply document management practices including version control, approvals, and compliance tracking using document management systems
Support the management of communications requests and assist with maintaining the communications project portfolio
Assist with mapping and maintaining network transport assets within GIS platforms
Maintain awareness of technology changes and support alignment of communications solutions with evolving business requirements
Support communications-related activities associated with the Long-Term Infrastructure Improvement Plan (LTIIP), including office and field coordination as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Associate degree in Networking, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent related work experience
3–6 years of professional-level experience supporting engineering, communications, networking, or telecommunications environments
Administrative and technical writing skills
Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Adobe Acrobat, and other document production tools
Proficiency in document management principles including policy adherence, version control, approvals, and regulatory or compliance considerations
Preferred
Basic knowledge of common test equipment such as DMMs, antenna analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and RF wattmeters
Experience with network circuit design, platform administration, and infrastructure support
Experience supporting data transport for field devices such as RTUs, routers, switches, and reclosers over wireless or fiber networks
Experience with in-building cellular signal booster and network extender technologies
Experience supporting environmental systems such as HVAC, AC/DC power systems, batteries, and generators
Experience with circuit inventory management and telecommunications expense management systems
Drafting, drawing, or visualization experience using Visio, CAD, or GIS tools
Experience with document management platforms such as FileNet Content Navigator or similar systems
Familiarity with circuit monitoring, performance tracking, and work management tools
Knowledge of project management concepts and tools
Exposure to telephony systems including PBX, key systems, console systems, or ACD platforms
Exposure to SCADA environments and Remote Terminal Units (RTUs)
