Test Facility Technician
GE Vernova is seeking a hands-on mechanical engineering technician to join their elite team in an advanced test facility. The role involves operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-specification turbomachinery to ensure reliability and safety across energy and industrial sectors.

Responsibilities
Follow all safety procedures (including Lockout/Tagout); maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area (5S)
Inspect and test products and materials to ensure quality and identify defects
Set up, operate, monitor, and perform routine maintenance on production equipment
Diagnose and resolve equipment and process issues to minimize downtime; escalate complex issues as needed
Complete production, quality, and maintenance records; follow OEM drawings, job travelers, and specifications
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams; support continuous improvement initiatives
Move, align, assemble, disassemble, and reassemble mechanical and rotating equipment using material-handling tools
Maintain shop organization and assist with lifting, prep, and basic mechanical tasks as needed
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
1–3 years of mechanical, maintenance, or automotive experience
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
Position is 100% onsite at the GE Repair Center in Richmond, VA
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship
Must be flexible to work 1st, 2nd, or rotating shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role
Comfortable working around large rotating equipment, hand tools, propane/acetylene torches, and lifting devices, measuring equipment
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
