Responsibilities

Design and operate a secure, multi-environment Snowflake platform on AWS, including account, region, and network strategy
Drive performance and cost efficiency through smart warehouse configuration, scaling policies, workload isolation, and usage monitoring
Improve query speed and data layout using clustering, micro-partitioning, Search Optimization, Dynamic Tables, and materialized views
Apply modern table and storage patterns, including transient and external/Iceberg tables, plus zero-copy cloning for development workflows
Establish strong security and governance using RBAC, masking and row policies, object tagging, SSO/OAuth, PrivateLink, and KMS
Build observability and alerting with Snowflake system views and cloud-native tools; define and track SLAs/SLOs
Implement resilience and recovery capabilities such as Time Travel, cross-region replication, and failover

Required

5+ years in database or data engineering, with 3+ years operating Snowflake in production environments
Deep experience tuning Snowflake workloads and managing consumption at scale
Hands-on AWS expertise (S3, IAM/KMS, VPC/PrivateLink, CloudWatch)
Advanced SQL and Python skills; Snowpark experience is a plus
Experience with automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Git)
Strong analytical skills, clear communication, and thorough documentation habits

Preferred

Experience with Snowflake Cortex AI or Unistore/Hybrid Tables
Familiarity with External/Iceberg tables and data sharing
Exposure to dbt, Airflow, or Fivetran
Cross-region DR implementations; Snowflake or AWS certifications
