Responsibilities
Leads functional teams in the planning and design of pipeline and/or compression projects for the BHE GT&S pipeline system
Provides technical oversight in performing all phases of projects
Assists with internal training for engineers and technicians
Works closely with managers and principal engineers on higher-level projects, and in recommending and implementing changes that benefit the company
Conducts hydraulic pipeline modeling, provides designs, cost estimates, scoping documents, engineering specifications, drawings, cost analyses, and compressor performance analysis
Conducts engineering studies and investigations and prepares oral and written reports
Updates contract and cost databases
Provides engineering assistance to other departments
Keeps informed of industry issues and technical trends that can benefit the BHE GT&S business
Qualification
Required
0-2 years of related engineering experience for Engineer I
Engineering degree from an accredited college/university for Engineer I
Engineering degree from an accredited college/university and 1-3 years' experience for Engineer II
Engineering degree from an accredited college/university and 5 years industry experience for Sr Engineer/Sr. Engineer II
Four-year ABET accredited engineering degree (Engineer) for Engineer I/Engineer II
Ability to monitor changes in technology with skill in developing, testing and recommending new ideas and strategies for the utilization of those changes
Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering schematics, drawings, and technical manuals
Demonstrated ability to prepare technical reports, project schedules, and cost estimates
Ability to lead, work independently, communicate effectively, and establish rapport
Ability to define problems, collect accurate data, draw valid conclusions, and develop solutions
Demonstrated ability to effectively operate a personal computer and common software applications
Full knowledge of engineering theories and principles for Sr Engineer/Sr Engineer II
Skilled in use of advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines for Sr Engineer/Sr Engineer II
Strong leadership skills with proven ability to serve as team project lead for Sr Engineer/Sr Engineer II
Provide guidance to less experienced engineers for Sr Engineer/Sr Engineer II
Strong oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing) for Sr Engineer/Sr Engineer II
Strong personal computer skills for Sr Engineer/Sr Engineer II
Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems for Sr Engineer/Sr Engineer II
Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices for Sr Engineer/Sr Engineer II
In depth knowledge of various computer applications, with the ability to manipulate personal computer applications and perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g., Matlab, Excel, etc.) for Sr Engineer/Sr Engineer II
Equally effective working independently or in team environment for Sr Engineer/Sr Engineer II
Proven decision-making skills for Sr Engineer/Sr Engineer II
Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks for Sr Engineer/Sr Engineer II
Strong planning, organizational and project management skills for Sr Engineer/Sr Engineer II
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
Preferred
