Development Lead (Print/Mail)
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Specialty Software Engineer within the Technology Engineering organization. This role will serve as the technical lead driving the migration from legacy systems to cloud-native architectures, ensuring the reliability and scalability of high-volume operational workflows.

Responsibilities
Lead complex initiatives on selected domains
Ensure systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk
Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost
Lead, design, develop, test and implement applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies
Resolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature
Lead team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
Mentor less experienced software engineers
Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
Lead team to achieve objectives
Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively
Qualification
Required
5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Preferred
Experience modernizing legacy systems into cloud-native or hybrid architectures
Hands-on expertise with Java, .NET, Python, or similar backend languages
Experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven design
Strong knowledge of CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
Experience with public or private cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, or PCF)
Knowledge of GenAI, automation, or intelligent document processing technologies
Background supporting high-volume, regulated operational workflows (e.g., print/mail, statements, operational batch processing)
Strong understanding of risk and compliance within financial services
Excellent communication and leadership skills, including experience leading development teams
Experience partnering with production support
