Responsibilities
Assist in the comprehensive audit process, which includes performing financial, system and operational reviews and internal audits for assigned areas
Identify process and internal control gaps and work with stakeholders to develop appropriate remediation plans
Assist in maintaining the internal control risk matrix and internal control documentation for key financial processes
Under the supervision of the Internal Audit Manager, perform audit fieldwork and administrative practices consistent with established professional standards, company policies and procedures, and objectives
Document selected processes from a system and manual controls perspective
Perform compliance monitoring on selected processes
Keep internal audit management and the Audit Committee informed of audit results and findings in a timely and effective manner to help improve corporate governance and the control environment
Collaborate with the company’s external audit firm to ensure all required information is provided for successful annual financial audits. Support the testing process as necessary
Participate on ad hoc projects as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
2+ years of experience in public accounting or equivalent industry experience, with emphasis in financial/operational auditing, including capital assets
Highly organized, detail oriented and self-motivated
Demonstrates ability to independently execute tasks based on detailed verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision
Demonstrates exemplary attention to detail
Ability to self-review and edit work for accuracy, clarity, and completeness prior to submission
Fundamental understanding of common business processes
Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate openly and respectfully about progress, challenges and timelines
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to learn from repetition and feedback to consistently improve, speed, accuracy and quality of recurring tasks
Demonstrates professionalism through reliable attendance, punctuality, adherence to scheduled hours and appropriate business attire
Ability to deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations
Solid computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred
Certified Public Accountant or CPA eligible
