Responsibilities
Organizes and coordinates various catering/special events such as membership affairs, command functions, cultural events, balls, etc
Receives schedules of banquet or arrangements of related activities on a weekly and/or daily basis
Reviews the scheduled functions to ascertain that required preparations are made, to include proper staffing, room arrangements, supplies and equipment
Responsible for the thematic decoration of rooms when not arranged by the client
Understands and follows catering procedures, ensuring timely communication is maintained and pertinent information is dispensed
Ensures that all work areas of the catering department are organized, well maintained and that all equipment and supplies are clean and stored in their proper places
This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Two years' experience that demonstrates knowledge of standardized club or food facility operational practices and procedures, pricing and ability to coordinate with all facets of club operations
Knowledge and understanding of catering practices
Skills necessary to assist customers in planning party functions
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate functions to provide the best in quality service to patrons, with a personal dedication to complete customer satisfaction
Ability to carry out responsibilities in an independent manner, working under pressure with limited supervision
Ability to prepare reports and complete simple contractual arrangements
Skill to deal courteously and effectively with customers, employees and management
