Responsibilities

Provide basic care and educate students on managing their own health care

Qualification

Required

Specialized terminology- specialized medical terminology skills, including training or experience with medical claims documentation
Ability to learn, understand, and apply skills as a Patient Care Assistant as part of specialized medical terminology within three months of hire
Word Processing skills sufficient to prepare memos, reports, invoices, financial statements, and other documents
Skills sufficient to modify, develop, and update spreadsheets
Customer Service Skills (phone, in person) sufficient to respond to e-mail, telephone, and in-person questions, inquiries, and requests in a timely, professional manner
Data entry skills sufficient to enter data into forms, spreadsheets, etc

Preferred

Experience working in a healthcare setting
Communication skills sufficient to work with a diverse population and obtain necessary information to assist with complex insurance and sensitive health-related issues and questions
Ability to prioritize workload and multi-task with phone, in-person, and electronic communication sufficient to independently gather information and provide timely, accurate responses to varying questions and inquiries
Experience working with confidential and technical medical information and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
Experience with health insurance verification in a medical clinic
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment
