Claims Manager
Heritage Insurance is seeking a Claims Manager to oversee the investigation, evaluation, and resolution of property claims while developing a high-performing claims team. This leadership role focuses on operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction, while also managing complex claims and catastrophe preparedness.

Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and directly supervise internal and external property claims professionals to ensure compliance with company procedures, policy language, and regulatory requirements
Review incoming property claims and assign cases based on complexity, adjuster expertise, and workload
Provide guidance, oversight, and settlement authority to claims staff, including oversight of large-loss and complex claims
Conduct open and closed file reviews to assess quality, accuracy, timeliness, and overall operational effectiveness
Personally manage high-exposure or complex claims, including negotiations and settlement discussions
Prepare and review settlement evaluations and recommendations
Manage loss costs, reserves, and loss adjustment expenses to support financial performance and profitability
Analyze reports and performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement; communicate insights to leadership
Collaborate with policyholders, independent adjusters, attorneys, vendors, and other internal and external stakeholders
Identify complex claim scenarios and develop strategic resolution plans
Research, interpret, and apply policy language, state laws, and regulatory requirements
Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and legal proceedings as needed
Support catastrophe planning and response efforts, including extended hours during CAT events when required
Participate in system testing, process improvement initiatives, and departmental projects
Contribute to department policies, procedures, strategic planning, and goal setting
Partner closely with Claims leadership, Underwriting, Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, agents, and external partners
Recruit, interview, onboard, mentor, and develop claims staff, fostering a culture of accountability, quality service, and continuous improvement
Ensure ongoing compliance with all federal and state regulations, company policies, and ethical standards
Travel, including overnight travel, may be required
Qualification
Required
Associate's Degree required
Active Florida 6-20 Adjuster License required
Minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience leading personal and/or commercial property claims professionals
Extensive knowledge of property claims handling, best practices, and legal terminology
Proven experience training, coaching, and developing claims staff
Strong understanding of insurance operations and cross-functional collaboration
Hands-on experience with Xactimate, XactAnalysis, and XactNet
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Customer-focused leader with excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Analytical, results-driven professional with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with shifting priorities
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative leadership style
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree preferred (or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience)
Experience with internet-based research tools preferred
