Subsidiary Chief Executive Officer
McLaren Health Care is seeking a Subsidiary Chief Executive Officer to oversee the operations of the hospital. The President/CEO will be responsible for ensuring efficient hospital operations, managing personnel, and representing the hospital to the community and external groups.

Responsibilities
To keep the Corporate President/CEO and Board members familiar with the progress and all phases of hospital activities; to attend all meetings of the governing body, to refer to the governing body matters of major importance relative to the growth and development of a progressive hospital, for the purpose of securing decision or authorization; to report the conditions of the hospital to the Board of Trustees at their regular meetings; to ensure that the Board is properly represented to employees, Medical Staff and the general public
To determine the direction and methodology for achievement of the stated overall objectives of the hospital; to ensure the provision of new facilities or services in accordance with economic opportunity and community needs and available skills and interests; to institute a strategic plan for the hospital based on continued re-evaluation of established objectives and results, and correlate this with the required capital
Appropriately represent the Board of Trustees and hospital in the community through representation in various civic and social organizations.Requires a high degree of visibility within the greater Lansing area community including residing in the hospital service area.Accept responsibility for fostering the overall positive image of the medical center in the community
To establish hospital’s objectives for patient care, financial performance and physician development
To submit and achieve annual budget results reflective of the operating net income necessary to provide for the institution’s capital needs
To act as the final source of authority in matters pertaining to major management decisions and coordinates the activities of the Medical Staff and the hospital
To develop cooperative relationships with other hospitals for the exchange of information and services; with community agencies to develop understanding of the hospital’s programs; and with professional organizations and other groups
To foster effective relationships with the Medical Staff and to ensure that commitments to them are consistent with overall policies and objectives of the hospital and corporation, and essential to the successful growth of the medical center
To act as an ex-officio member of all standing committees of the hospital Board of Trustees
To align the health needs of the community with the strategic priorities of the medical center as well as provide leadership within the community on issues of health disparities and other health concerns relative to the service area demographics
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in Business, Health Care Administration or related field
An experienced hospital executive who has proved to be a capable leader in a series of increasingly responsible hospital positions
Prior experience in hospital administration in excess of ten (10) years is preferred; with demonstrated ability to manage progressively more complex organizations
Must be respected by his/her associates and active in professional organizations
Able to work in cooperation with Board of Trustee, Corporation Administration, the Medical Staff and with community representatives
