Neurodiagnostic Assistant - Autonomic Lab

Responsibilities

Support specific clinical neurophysiology areas within the Department of Neurology
Work closely alongside technologist performing Autonomic Reflex Screen testing
Prepare and guide patients through procedures
Operate specialized diagnostic equipment
Monitor patient safety and comfort
Ensure tests are conducted according to established protocols
Work closely alongside the physician to prepare and conduct diagnostic testing in a fast-paced clinical environment
Prepare sensors and ensure accurate electrode placement for targeted muscles
Recognize, troubleshoot, and correct electrode placement and signal artifacts in real time

Required

Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or GED
Minimum of one year of patient care experience required or current student in the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences Clinical Neurophysiology Technology Program
Requires computer skills including Windows based applications
Ability to navigate through multiple applications and platforms with ease
Strong ability to work independently, remain goal-oriented, and maintain excellent organizational skills
Capable of effectively managing multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality or patient care
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including proper telephone etiquette, professional face-to-face interactions, and effective electronic correspondence
Proven ability to communicate confidently and credibly with individuals and small groups
Exhibit a friendly, positive demeanor and bring energy and motivation to daily responsibilities
Skilled in handling challenging situations, staying composed under pressure, demonstrating empathy, and maintaining constructive communication in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Flexible and adaptable to evolving work environments, with a commitment to continuous learning and skill development
Open to adjusting work schedules to accommodate departmental or clinical needs

Preferred

Accurate prep & handling of Botulinum toxin (reconstitution, dosage accuracy, dilution)
Strong understanding of muscle anatomy, landmarks, and innervation anatomical knowledge
Exposure to needles
Strong math skills
Anatomy
Preferred experience includes roles such as Pharmacy tech, Phlebotomy Tech or Licensed Practical Nurse
Previous experience in Neurology preferred
Proficiency with electronic health records is preferred
