Responsibilities
Facilitating 1-hour outdoor life-skills workshops (public speaking, attention management, leadership, collaboration) via nature-based challenges and adventure-style programming
Conducting brief, high-energy motivational sessions in which you guide students toward academic targets using adaptive software platforms
Animating curriculum through storytelling, personalization, and dynamic delivery that sustains K-12 student engagement
Executing safety protocols and outdoor decision-making (route selection, weather assessment, equipment inspection, Leave No Trace principles) according to Waypoint's field standards
Evaluating skill acquisition by having students demonstrate real-world application of life skills
Maintaining rigorous standards of excellence while serving as an approachable, inspiring mentor students genuinely respect
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in any discipline
Minimum 3 years of K-12 experience in educational settings, camps, coaching programs, or outdoor initiatives
Demonstrated history of exceptional achievement (academic, athletic, or professional)
Strong public speaking ability with capacity to energize and command attention from large student audiences in indoor and outdoor environments
Authentic rapport with K-12 learners—understanding their interests and culture—while maintaining the posture of a positive role model who challenges growth, not a peer
Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship requirement
Commitment to in-person work at Waypoint Academy's Dripping Springs, TX campus (Austin vicinity)
