Responsibilities

All on site life extensions, repairs and inspection-related service activities able to be performed at customer site. includes onsite machining, NDT, blading, winding, critical welding, generator diagnostic
Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills
Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area
May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters
A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others
Support activities as required such as proposal support, equipment maintenance, process instruction revisions, new test development, interpretation of customer technical specifications, field training, and develop productivity improvements

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 2 years of experience power industry)
Current or recent prior Level II or III certification in the following methods: UT, MT, ET & PT
Certifiable to ASNT TC-1A standards in the following methods: UT, MT, ET & PT
Possess a valid driver's license
Possess or able to obtain a passport for international travel
Able to travel freely to and from the United States and perform work without restriction
Fluent in written and spoken English
Travel and work globally on short notice up to 80% of the time, and for extended periods of time, including weekends and holidays

Preferred

Strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
Work effectively with minimal direction and supervision
Experience using digital data acquisition systems and NDT analysis software tools
Power generation industry experience in the field of nondestructive testing
Experience in a customer service organization
Proficient in MS Office
