Court Services Supervisor 1 (Family)

Responsibilities
Supervising the day-to-day operations of a case management team consisting of professional, paraprofessional and/or support staff in person and remotely
Regulating work flow in accordance with operating schedules
Ensuring that team members function in accordance with human resource policies, relevant laws, regulations, rules, directives, policies and procedures
Advising management on personnel issues and addressing work performance deficiencies accordingly including investigating disciplinary matters
Using systems such as FACTS, NJKIDS, E-COURTS to complete assigned tasks
Coordinating training for staff on judiciary systems and virtual platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom
Ensuring mail is promptly opened, reviewed, and distributed accordingly by staff
Assigning and reviewing records requests for timely completion
Compiling statistical data on workload volume and efficient court/unit operations
Directing and coordinating work between units or teams
Monitoring backlog
Implementing leadership strategies to accomplish organization/unit goals
Effectively communicating with judges, attorneys, supervisors, staff, litigants, and outside stakeholders
Performing other related duties as assigned
Overseeing the Division’s Early Settlement Program which will include, but is not limited to, preparing and reviewing calendars, interacting with panelists and Judges regarding the program, and assisting litigants and attorneys
Overseeing special projects, including records projects that consist of purging files, entering files into the electronic system known as SCRIMS, and coordinating with the Administrative Office of the Courts and other divisions, such as Operations, to ensure pick up of the files
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and three years of paraprofessional and/or professional experience, one year of which shall have included experience in case management; enforcement of court orders; and/or supervision, monitoring and intervention of offenders
Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits
An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
A master's degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above
A law degree from an approved American Bar Association law school may be substituted for two years of general experience as indicated above
Degrees conferred outside of the United States must be evaluated by a recognized evaluation service
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position
Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations
Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting
All persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey
