Business Development Manager - Automotive Coatings

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for growing paint sales within the automotive market by developing new business and managing key accounts, while collaborating closely with technical and product teams.

Responsibilities

Drive revenue growth by developing and executing sales and marketing strategies aligned with customer needs, market trends, and competitive insights
Own and grow assigned customer accounts by building strong relationships, identifying opportunities, and expanding share of business
Lead customer-facing sales activities including workshops, technical presentations, trainings, and approval processes to advance sales opportunities
Actively identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities while delivering value-based solutions to customers
Support and negotiate customer contracts, ensuring commercial terms are met and agreements are successfully executed
Achieve sales targets and key performance indicators; proactively implement corrective actions to exceed performance goals
Deliver accurate sales forecasts, pricing proposals, and quotations to support strategic and operational sales decisions
Collaborate with internal teams to support customer development projects, resolve claims, and accelerate deal execution
Manage commercial responsibilities including pricing strategy, margin optimization, accounts receivable, and cost control
Maintain disciplined sales planning and reporting, including customer visit reports, pipeline updates, and extensive travel (up to 75%)

Required

High School diploma/GED required
Experience with Automotive industrial coatings or relevant industry required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Strong negotiating skills and decision-making abilities
Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint)
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
The position requires the ability to travel both domestically and internationally, including to countries and customers that may require proof of vaccination
Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices

Preferred

Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience with SAP software (preferred)
