Enloe Health is a Level II Trauma Center located in beautiful Northern California. The Emergency Department Technician’s primary responsibility is to facilitate patient flow and provide basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

Facilitate patient flow
Provide basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
Perform selected procedures as defined in the Patient Care Standards Manual
Obtain vital signs
Place patients in exam rooms
Obtain specimens
Prepare and assist patients for clinician evaluation
Assist clinician
Ensure the area is orderly and well stocked with supplies and equipment is ready for use

Required

Previous medical training such as EMT or Military Corpsman OR six months emergency department or pre-hospital experience
Current CPR Certification
Must demonstrate technical competence and capable of using electronic medical records and centralized monitoring systems
Must have knowledge of Medical Terminology
Must be able to interact professionally and effectively communicate with physicians, staff, patients, and public
Must show sensitivity for the hospitalized patient and family
Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
Will utilize clerical and computer skills for a variety of support functions
Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential
Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position

Preferred

One year experience on an ambulance or in an emergency department
