Solution Architect with SAP Ecosystem tools - Only W2
American Unit, Inc is seeking a Solution Architect with expertise in SAP ecosystem tools to support enterprise applications. The role involves developing strategic roadmaps for supply chain and procurement systems, ensuring architectural alignment with long-term business needs.
Responsibilities
Act as the Solution Architect for supply chain and procurement-related systems
Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap that reflects product lifespans and enterprise direction
Provide architectural guidance around SAP Ariba (including business network investments and upcoming releases)
Support Fieldglass initiatives, including upcoming SOW module enhancements
Ensure architectural decisions are scalable, defensible, and aligned with long-term enterprise strategy
Communicate recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Maintain architecture decision records (ADRs), solution design documents, and integration specifications, and facilitate architecture reviews and sign-offs with the governance council
Provide technical oversight and validation of vendor or partner solution designs, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards
Translate business capabilities into aligned technology solutions and identify gaps or modernization opportunities
Qualification
Required
Solution Architect experience supporting enterprise applications
Strong background in supply management/supply chain systems
Experience with SAP ecosystem tools such as Ariba, Fieldglass, or related platforms
Ability to manage and influence relationships with business stakeholders and MSP partnerships
System and application-agnostic mindset (focused on best-fit solutions vs. tool loyalty)
Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge recommendations and ask the right questions
Experience building short-term and long-term technology roadmaps
Knowledge of integration patterns and middleware (e.g., APIs, SAP CPI, RedHat Fuse, Talend, or similar platforms)
Experience applying enterprise architecture principles (e.g., TOGAF, reference models, architecture governance, decision frameworks)
Understanding of data architecture, master data dependencies, and data governance impacts across supply chain processes
Understanding of cloud architecture concepts (e.g., SaaS, PaaS, integration with cloud-hosted applications)
Awareness of security, compliance, and access control considerations within supply chain and procurement systems
Ability to drive architectural alignment across diverse stakeholders and facilitate structured decision-making
Preferred
Utility industry experience (helpful but not required)
Familiarity with complex procurement processes, including blanket POs and multi-layered approval workflow
Familiarity with agile product delivery and architecture in a product team operating model
