Human Resources Generalist

Imagine Early Learning Centers is an Employee Owned company that operates high-quality early childhood centers. They are seeking an HR Generalist to manage HR functions, ensure compliance with regulations, and oversee benefits administration.

Responsibilities

Manage all HR functions (transactions, ACA, compensation, benefits, leave, performance, time/labor, reporting) using UKG Ready HRIS
Ensure compliance with legislative regulations (ACA, NY/NJ leave laws, etc.) and maintain data integrity
Develop, maintain, and prepare complex reports; train users on reporting capabilities
Manage the annual compensation cycle (increases, bonuses) and partner with Finance on W-2 preparation and health insurance costs
Manage UKG functionality, security permissions, access, and dashboards
Manage the implementation phase of HR projects
Communicate benefits, facilitate timely enrollment, and process enrollment/disenrollment with carriers
Manage all Leaves of Absence, including ADA return-to-work determinations
Manage accruals (profiles, adjustments, carryover) and ensure monthly ACA benefit status accuracy
Process and audit 1095c/1094c submissions and reconcile benefit invoices with Finance
Coordinate open enrollments, including broker contact, employee communications, and marketing
Implement new benefits/perks and coordinate Wellness Programs
Act as the employee benefits liaison, to include visiting all childcare centers on an annual basis
Ensure distribution and compliance for all required notices (COBRA, Medicare Part D, SPDs, SBCs)
Conduct new-hire orientation and manage all Year-End Tasks
Administer the Rewards and Recognition Program
Process Workers’ Compensation claims
Prepare and submit annual compliance reports (EEO-1, MWR, Workforce Utilization)
Oversee I-9 e-Verify, track card expirations, and ensure center compliance with all required labor law posters and notices

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, or a related field, required
HR Certification in SHRM-CP, PHR, or aPHR preferred
Proficient software skills: HRIS Platforms (UKG required), Google Chrome/Drive, and Excel required
Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience and accept responsibility for and follow through on all tasks and special projects assigned
Keen analytical, organizational, problem solving, and decision making skills
Verbal skills that demonstrate a calm, clear tone
Listening skills to understand concerns of center administration and staff
Written skills that are clear and grammatically correct
Attention to detail and ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently and effectively

Preferred

HR Certification in SHRM-CP, PHR, or aPHR preferred
