Responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of customer-facing full stack systems
Own backend services, APIs, and data flows that power messaging, engagement, and AI-driven features
Partner with the AI Lead to integrate deterministic systems with probabilistic AI components
Make architecture decisions focused on reliability, scalability, and execution speed
Translate product requirements into clear, actionable technical plans
Ensure high-quality delivery through code reviews, testing, and observability
Balance speed with maintainability in a fast-moving startup environment
Take accountability for production systems and on-call readiness
Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed international team of full stack engineers
Establish strong execution cadence across time zones
Set engineering standards, delivery rituals, and accountability
Support hiring, onboarding, and performance development
Work closely with Product, AI, Compliance, and Customer teams
Communicate technical tradeoffs clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Support pre-sales or customer conversations when deep technical context is required
Qualification
Required
7+ years experience as a full stack or backend engineer
Prior experience leading engineers or owning systems end-to-end
Strong backend development experience (Node, Python, Go, or similar)
Solid frontend experience (React, Vue, or similar)
Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS or Azure)
Comfortable working with APIs, databases, and event-driven systems
Experience operating production systems with real users and revenue impact
Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-time-zone collaboration
Authorized to work in the United States
Preferred
Experience in marketing technology, CPaaS, or customer engagement platforms
Experience with messaging platforms or real-time customer communication systems
Exposure to AI-enabled features (RAG, LLMs, ML-powered workflows)
Experience in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments
Prior startup or scale-up experience
Experience supporting technical diligence or acquisition readiness
