Responsibilities

Design and execute test strategies covering the complete audio signal chain—from applications through DSP, amplifiers, speakers, and microphones
Validate functional correctness, performance, and audio quality across multiple use cases
Test and validate audio routing, concurrency, and performance within the Android Audio Stack (Audio HAL, AudioFlinger)
Debug and analyze Linux audio subsystems (ALSA) on the host OS
Investigate complex interactions in guest/host (Android/Linux) virtualized environments
Validate high-fidelity media playback, voice recording, and hands-free telephony (HFP)
Ensure seamless audio behavior with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Validate Echo Cancellation and Noise Reduction (ECNR) performance across real-world driving scenarios
Ensure premium voice-call quality and speech clarity
Ensure 100% functional reliability for vehicle chimes, alerts, AVAS, and horn-related audio paths
Analyze logs across Android and Linux layers to identify audio artifacts, routing conflicts, and performance issues
Develop and use scripts for test automation, regression testing, and log analysis

Required

Strong knowledge of Android and Linux audio stacks
Android Audio HAL, AudioFlinger
Linux ALSA
Direct experience as a QA / Test Engineer for audio products (Automotive, Mobile, or Consumer Electronics)
Hands-on audio validation experience, including functional, performance, and quality testing
Scripting skills (Python and/or Shell) for automation, diagnostics, and log parsing
Experience testing audio in multi-OS or virtualized environments (guest/host architectures)
Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira)

Preferred

Experience with automotive audio use cases (chimes, AVAS, V2X alerts)
Knowledge of Bluetooth audio profiles (HFP, A2DP)
Experience validating Apple CarPlay and Android Auto audio requirements
Proficiency with audio analysis tools (Audio Precision, Adobe Audition, similar)
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Signal Processing focus a plus)
