MGR Lab Pre - Analytics - Days
JPS Health Network is a tax-supported healthcare system in North Texas, employing over 7,200 people. The Manager Lab Pre-Analytics will oversee pre-analytic processes for laboratory specimens, ensuring quality control and compliance with industry standards while managing personnel and promoting performance improvement.

Responsibilities
Ensures quality control processes for all laboratory specimen handling
Assures standardization of specimen collection throughout the district to include working with lab educator and nursing
Monitors errors in collecting including but not limited to hemolysis, short draws, and contamination. Develops action plans with nursing and lab staff to improve error rate and related processes
Performs Laboratory Information System (LIS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) functions necessary to complete pre-analytic processes and acts as a resource to staff
Reinforces compliance of staff with hospital, regulatory, and laboratory policies and procedures
Acts as department liaison for customer service calls including but not limited to result information, collection process-specimen requirements, re-collects, specimen handling, and cancelled tests
Develops and maintains streamlined processes for specimen handling in the lab in conjunction with the Operations Manager, Quality Director, and Executive Director
Provides routine internal auditing for CAP compliance assuring compliance to regulatory standards and processes mirror SOPs under the direction of the Laboratory Manager of Compliance and Quality
Manages personnel including but not limited to tracking and managing schedules, competencies, orientation, and training. Maintains records of training activities
Develops, plans, implements, and evaluates educational activities that foster the development of competent learners through orientation, competency validation, in-service trainings, and continuing education
Promotes quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the laboratory

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in a Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited college or university
Documented evidence that meets qualifications as established by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment of 1988 (CLIA '88) are met
6 plus years of clinical laboratory training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing
2 plus years of leadership experience
Preferred
Masters Degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, Clinical laboratory Science or Medical Technology or related health fields from an accredited college or university
Must be certified in one of the following through American Society Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or American Medical Technologists (AMT): Medical Technologist (MT), OR Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), OR Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
