Responsibilities

Design electronic microwave Printed Wiring Boards and Printed Wiring Assemblies (PWA) for transmitters and/or receivers incorporating custom, SNL integrated circuit designs
Provide design and requirement feedback for lower-level assemblies such as integrated circuits
Coordinate with radar level engineering team to ensure transmitter and/or receiver designs meet design needs
Conduct laboratory testing of RF transmitters and/or receivers
Provide technical consultation on critical design elements
Present at technical design reviews
Support development of test requirements for RF level acceptance testing at the production agency
Develop design definition documentation
Coordinate with a multi-disciplinary group of engineers in the design and qualification of electrical components and making technical decisions on the direction of the designs
Work closely with the production agency to resolve any issues through development and production

Required

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and development
Ability to attain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance

Preferred

Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a highly related field where an independent research project was a graduation requirement (e.g., independent project, thesis, or dissertation)
Ability to work independently and collaborate well in a multidisciplinary team of designers and test engineers
Outstanding verbal and written skills, including the ability to develop and present briefings that are clear and compelling
Techniques for radiation environments
Demonstrated experience with high consequence electronics applications (e.g. space, weapons, medical, etc.)
Experience with RF/Microwave hardware design including schematic capture and layout
Experience with commercial RF/microwave circuit simulation and design tools such as HFSS, ADS, CST, Momentum, Microwave Office, etc
Experience or familiarity with test development and data processing software such as Python, MATLAB/Simulink, NI LabView, NI TestStand, etc
Familiarity with general test and measurement equipment and RF test equipment (network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, etc.)
Design for manufacturing experience
Experience in production of electronic components
Experience with design telity to work well in a team environment and collaborate with internal organizations and external production facilities and suppliers
Good communication and documentation skills
Active Q clearance
