New GradVirginia Commonwealth University is seeking a graduate assistant to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Marketing area for the 2026-27 academic year. The role involves overseeing marketing responsibilities for select sports, executing sales plans, and enhancing VCU Athletics' presence both on campus and within the community.

Responsibilities
Overseeing all marketing responsibilities of select sports; developing and implementing marketing plans, promotional schedules and ticket sales campaigns as well as all aspects of game presentation (scripts, promotions, entertainment, etc.)
Executing group sales plan to increase attendance through community outreach efforts (emphasis on emails and calls to past groups as well as creatively targeting new prospects)
Overseeing the special marketing programs. (i.e., Rodney Ram Club)
Coordinating and managing mascot appearances
Assisting with various game day presentation duties for Men’s Basketball (i.e., Scheduling National Anthem singers, serve as on-court game day coordinator)
Establishing effective on-campus marketing efforts (i.e., presence at student orientations, tabling on campus)
Coordinating VCU Athletics’ presence at community events in and around the city of Richmond
Assisting with coordination of various athletics communication mediums (i.e., Weekly student emails, faculty/staff telegrams, campus digital sign updates); and
Other duties as assigned (i.e., assistance with social media and dance/cheer/band coordination)
Qualification
Required
Admittance into a graduate program within VCU
Knowledge of and prior work experience in intercollegiate athletics
Strong customer service skills, highly organized, and detail-oriented
Exceptional verbal and written communication
