Responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate daily laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with institutional and federal guidelines
Manage and maintain a large mouse colony, including scheduling, organization, and documentation of experiments
Supervise the use of core facilities and ensure proper training and adherence to protocols
Develop and implement new laboratory techniques and maintain accurate research and IACUC protocols
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, conduct regular inspections, and manage reporting requirements
Oversee purchasing and inventory management for reagents, supplies, and equipment
Monitor reagent utilization and schedule routine equipment maintenance
Foster a structured, organized environment that supports efficient and collaborative research activities
Perform additional related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience
Strong background in research design and data analysis
In-depth knowledge of molecular biology, mouse husbandry, and genetics
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to write clearly and effectively for protocols and documentation
Preferred
Hands-on experience with mice, including manipulation and genotyping, is highly desirable
