Responsibilities

Lead project readiness planning, verifying all builder prerequisites are satisfied before construction commences
Review and provide expert commentary on bid strategies, project specifications, and engineering drawings
Recommend necessary engineering and design modifications to optimize project outcomes
Conduct constructability reviews with engineering and operations teams during the design phase to identify potential cost savings and efficiency improvements
Schedule, coordinate, and supervise the installation of new joint-buried utility distribution electric facilities across residential, multi-dwelling, and commercial/industrial sites
Manage the design and construction lifecycle, coordinating extensively with all joint-buried utilities sharing the common trench
Conduct essential field walk-downs alongside all facility owners, installation contractors, and the customer/builder to ensure alignment and address potential conflicts
Manage material procurement, placing orders for required project materials once permits, final drawings, and common trench utility agreements are finalized
Oversee financial administration tasks, including unit sheet approval and reconciliation, invoice approvals, accruals management, variance analysis and reviews, and budget planning
Initiate, schedule, and execute the procedures required to energize developments upon construction completion
Lead efforts to energize new facilities, strictly ensuring all safety and compliance standards are met after infrastructure installation
Provide timely troubleshooting and resolution for day-to-day issues that may arise throughout the entire project process, from initial design to final energization and closeout
Oversee financial closeout processes: Accurately review and reconcile all project invoices, unit sheets, and expenses
Document and explain monthly variances and troubleshoot any discrepancies

Required

A bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Candidates without a formal degree must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in electric construction, construction oversight, utility operations planning/coordination, or engineering-related responsibilities
Minimum of 5 years of dedicated leadership experience within utility infrastructure management, specifically encompassing project readiness, builder coordination, complex troubleshooting, and financial management
Proficiency in large-scale project management, permitting processes, material planning, budget reconciliation, and troubleshooting complex issues
Advanced strategic planning and stakeholder management capabilities, with a proven ability to coordinate diverse groups including builders, contractors, municipalities, and internal departments
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for success in this role
Software Proficiency: Proficient in relevant software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project)
In-depth knowledge of electric system operations and procedures for obtaining line and equipment clearances on transmission and distribution facilities
Comprehensive understanding of specification and contract enforcement, applicable technical standards, OSHA regulations, and other relevant regulatory statutes
Familiarity with construction industry best practices, including trade agreements, standard procedures, techniques, work methods, and quality standards
Strong analytical ability to read and accurately interpret specifications and construction drawings, and effectively convey those interpretations to contractors
Proven ability to work autonomously, investigating and solving construction problems in a timely manner with minimal dependence on others
Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record, as this role necessitates frequent travel to and field inspection of various worksites
Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required
