Responsibilities
Manage and mentor a team of three to five Approvals Associates, including hiring, training, and engagement
Set expectations, track goals, and ensure team members meet performance standards
Improve processes, enforce approval standards, and maintain quality control
Review and approve product, packaging, and marketing materials for global IPs
Organize, photograph, track, and ship samples internationally
Create and maintain IP-specific style guides and usage guides
Communicate daily with internal teams and external partners
Maintain and present updates and status reports at team and department meetings
Understand Licensee and Retailer goals to facilitate accurate approvals
Curate data (approval rates, speed, etc.) and artwork (collecting, organizing, commissioning)
Collaborate with internal teams to plan and develop product lines for Crunchyroll eCommerce and manufactured goods
Maintain organization and cleanliness of sample storage spaces
Qualification
Required
8+ years of professional experience, including 2+ years in product approvals, preferably within an anime, entertainment, or gaming company
2+ years experience managing teams in approvals, production, or related operations
Ability to lead, mentor, and engage a small team effectively
Strong organizational and project management skills, initiative, and follow-through
Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
Creative and critical thinking to provide solutions
Attention to detail and commitment to IP quality standards
Comfortable with both data curation and creative/artwork processes
Proficient with Microsoft Suite and/or Google Suite, and experience with approvals software (e.g., MyMediaBox)
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
