Responsibilities
Lead and mentor three MEP trade supervisors; promote technical excellence and energy-conscious operations
Serve as Chief Engineer for the Central Heating Plant
Recruit, train, and manage plant personnel in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
Develop and manage MEP and utility budgets; forecast and track energy use
Identify and implement long-term efficiency strategies to reduce costs and carbon emissions
Ensure compliance with energy codes and building performance standards
Implement planned maintenance programs to maximize equipment efficiency and lifespan
Coordinate third-party energy audits and assessments
Develop and implement Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs), emphasizing low/no-cost improvements
Optimize building performance through retro-commissioning and continuous system monitoring
Support capital energy and plant upgrade projects from design through commissioning
Maintain and optimize the Building Automation System (BAS)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering (or related field)
7–10 years managing complex facilities and central utility plants; higher education experience preferred
HVAC, steam/hydronic systems, electrical distribution, and BAS
Massachusetts Second Class Steam Engineer License and/or Professional Engineer (PE)
Proven leadership and staff development experience
Strong financial, data analysis, and project management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
