Electronics Technician
Air Force Civilian Service is seeking Electronics Technicians to provide specialized depot-level maintenance and technical support for the Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division Maintenance Branch. The role involves repair, modification, upgrades, and preventative maintenance actions for various electronic systems and equipment.
Responsibilities
Provide specialized depot-level maintenance, technical support, and services for all equipment assigned to and supported by the Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division Maintenance Branch
Perform depot level repair, modification, upgrades, and preventative maintenance actions of new and existing assets
Interpret technical data such as drawings, schematics, blueprints, and specifications of complete electronic systems
Analyze problems in integrated/interfacing systems involving numerous complex circuits
Use complex electronic and electromechanical test and measuring equipment using integrated test functions or different purposes
Apply and convert knowledge of equipment, systems, design and test methodologies into detailed but practical depot-level maintenance test procedures
Modify standard procedures, adapt equipment or techniques, and make departures from previous approaches to solve technical problems or improve system performance for highly complex electronic systems
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a current 'Top Secret' Security clearance with eligibility to gain access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
This position is designated as a Drug Test Designated Position
Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate Information Assurance (IA) certification within 6-months of assigned duties
Knowledge of electronics technician practices, methods, techniques, processes, operations, terminology, and design as they relate to depot-level test and repair
Knowledge of technical specifications/data to develop, collect, analyze, evaluate, and interpret specifications, schematics, engineering drawings, test reports, original equipment manufacturer technical specifications/technical data when developing/ establishing depot-level maintenance capabilities
Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, policies, principles, methods, procedures, and other guidance related to various functions of life-cycle sustainment/maintenance support; in-depth understanding of the interrelationships of various disciplines required to manage systems/projects/programs
Skill in interpreting technical data such as drawings, schematics, blueprints, and specifications of complete electronic systems; analyzing problems in integrated/ interfacing systems involving numerous complex circuits; and using complex electronic and electromechanical test and measuring equipment using integrated test functions or different purposes
Ability to apply and convert knowledge of equipment, systems, design and test methodologies into detailed but practical depot-level maintenance test procedures, and/or local work card to coordinate effectively with equipment specialists, engineers, system managers, and program offices to identify specific maintenance training requirements; and to develop and adjust plans and schedules to meet requirements
Ability to modify standard procedures, adapt equipment or techniques, and make departures from previous approaches to solve technical problems or improve system performance for highly complex electronic systems; trace electronics logic from one system to another; and use computer terminals to enter and extract data to maintain records and document actions
