Responsibilities
Drive and contribute to design and development of critical components and systems for naval propulsion and power generation applications involving turbines, electric motors, gearboxes and generator sets
Develop new designs from concept through detailed design, manufacture and test phases
Support manufacturing activities on existing production contracts
Travel may be required to support supplier and customer meetings
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline with 8 years of relevant experience; Masters of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 6 years of relevant experience
Knowledge in mechanical engineering principles, and experience in developing design concepts, performing trade studies, and conducting supporting evaluations and analyses
CAD experience, such as CREO or NX
A basic knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 drawing standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
US Citizenship required
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
Ability to work as a contributing engineering team member
Preferred
Knowledge in GD&T and solid modeling NX/CREO
Current active DoD Secret clearance
